COMPORSYS Connector for IBM CICS®

The COMPORSYS Connector for IBM CICS® offers an easy-to-use interface to your existing CICS applications.

The COMPORSYS Connector supports the development of new service-oriented applications on top of proven IMS applications in which it guarantees the smooth communication between the two software worlds.

The COMPORSYS Connector offers access to the following CICS interfaces:

• External Call Interface (ECI)
  The External Call Interface (ECI) allows the synchronous and asynchronous execution of CICS programs within a transaction (Distributed Program Link).
  
  
• External Presentation Interface (EPI)
  The External Presentation Interface (EPI) creates a virtual terminal on whose "monitor" with the help of an API, you can both start transactions and get hold of the results (3270 Screen Scraping).
  
  
• External Security Interface (ESI)
  The External Security Interface (ESI) offers methods for user identification and password management.

Additional features offered by the COMPORSYS Connector for IBM CICS:

• The CICS call are carried out in the transaction context of the Java™ Transaction Service (JTS).
• Persistent and fault-tolerant connection to CICS for maximum performance and scalibility
• Includes COMPORSYS Cobol Copybook Parser for code generation

The communication between IBM CICS and the COMPORSYS Connector is executed through the IBM CICS Transaction Gateway (The IBM Transaction Gateway is not part of this product).
